For those who want to try, there is a frequency measurement test coming up next week.

The test transmission will be from a single station in Oklahoma using the call sign W100AW/5.  The transmission format will be a single, unmodulated carrier.  Measure the frequency of that carrier as accurately as possible.

The FMT will start on 20 meters near 14121 kHz at 10:30 PM EDT on April 9th (Wednesday evening) in North America. (That is 0230 UTC on April 10th, Thursday morning, in Europe.)

A special W100AW Frequency Measuring Test certificate will be available to stations submitting a measured frequency within ±10 Hz of any of the three transmitted frequencies.

Frequency Measuring Test Schedule

Start:  Wednesday April 9th 2014 10:30 PM EDT (0230 UTC)

20 Meters near 14121 kHz

10:30  call up (3 min)

10:33  key down 2 min)

10:35  end announcement

40 Meters near 7055 kHz

10:45 call up (3 min)

10:48 key down (2 min)

10:50 end announcement

80 Meters near 3598 kHz

Looks like it would be great fun for the whole family.  No need to transmit.  Just receive.  Good luck in the test.
