Japanese radios again
Anyone know how remote controllable that the Baofeng radios are? I know you can hook them up to a computer and program memory and set channels, but can you adjust squelch and key a transmitter? Stuff like that?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Japanese radios again
Jerry,
Using CHIRP Software, you can set the squelch. Actually you can do allot with CHIRP, but I don't think you can key the radio. Download CHIRP and install it. http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home
It works on damn near any rig, and doesn't have to be connected to the radio to check out what it is capable of.

WOW! I just checked the date on your post..... I'll bet you already found the answer. Sorry about being so late with it.
Re: Japanese radios again
BTW, Jerry...What are you planning? I have a couple of those Chinese radios here.
Which brings up another thought.
I have been against these Chinese radios for a very long time. I mean they have to be junk right? They came from China. I found myself making allot of noise about them and decided I should buy one just in case I was wrong.
I was wrong. Great little radios. Now I have 2!

Re: Japanese radios again
I want to weatherproof them and put them on a tower so they will need to be totally remotely operable.
