Rag Chew

Has anybody chewed on a rag before? What was it like? Was it like as much fun as, say, dumpster diving? Where did this term come from? Where is it heading?  

Amateurs use the slang expression ragchew or ragchewing to refer to an extended, informal conversation, a variation of the common idioms "chewing the fat" and "chewing the rag".

Don't chew on a dishrag....dish soap tastes nasty....especially an old stinky dishrag......yuck!

I can think of better rags to chew on.

By gum, why would anybody want to chew a rag?

Well, when my nephew was under a year old he used to chew on anything and everything, even dishrags. So, I guess that it is possible that we have all chewed on a rag without remembering.

I mostly chew on pens and pencils.

what is this I don't even.

I went to the doctor the other day... He said I needed more fiber, so I chewed a rag... I'm happy to report that all that cotton fiber worked wonderfully!
