Since I could not connect the Motorola SB6121 cable modem to the Linksys WRT54G router (it likes my DSL modem), I decided it was time to upgrade the router. On sale at Walmart for $99, I picked up the Linksys EA3500 N750 Smart WiFi router. At first, I didn't like the setup by disk, but I did, and it set up the network connection, the cable modem, and the WiFi. Took about 5 minutes. Then the router webpage came up. i copied the web address. I can access the router page from any browser without an external program from this point on.

It is a 10/100/1000 router, the modem is connected at 1000 Mbps. It also has a USB port. So, I took a 32GB thumb drive and stuck it in the USB port. On the router page, did a refresh, and there it was. Opened Windows Explorer, and entered \\192.168.1.1, and there was the thumb drive. I can access it. The only way to see how much memory is used, capacity, etc, is by the Linksys router page. Today, I will test and see if it will handle a bank of thumb drives using a hub.

Paring mobile devices to the router is easy, using WPA. Push the button on the router, and connect your device. That simple.

The Linksys router page is relatively easy to navigate, and change settings. Overall, a great value and ease of use.
